The Transparent Trap
Made By Tracking System
We’ve followed Edun — the eco-conscious clothing line launched by Bono and wife Ali Hewson — since first spotting its stylish pieces at Anthropologie and Barneys years ago. But its affiliation with Europe-based Made By, a clever online tracking system that traces the origins of a garment’s production, makes our devotion even stronger. How does it work? Buy a piece from the new fall collection (we like the women’s camisoles and men’s cardigans) and type in the code found on your clothing tag to see actual photos of everything from the cotton farm to the textile factory through which it has passed. Why do we care? It makes the simple, non-preachy statement that — even in fashion — honesty is the best policy.
