Kids these days have it all — their own houses, cars...um, submarines. We complain about them growing up too fast, yet we give them mini versions of things that even some grownups don’t have. But, the imaginary play that these elaborate toys promote is good (at least better than video games) and so, as ridiculous as they seem, we keep buying them. The challenge comes in finding one that isn’t made of plastic. And, that is where Greenplay’s Submarine Activity Station comes into play. This little over 2-foot tall “undersea adventure” is made of FSC-certified composite wood finished with vegetable-based stains. With bench seating on both sides and windows to crawl through, this toxin-free submarine has everything a kid’s imagination needs while meeting all of a green parent’s safety standards. The yellow submarine pulls through again. This time, Srgt Pepper not included.
